Von mir wird eine ortsspezifische Arbeit gezeigt, die an das Werk Sacred Convergence anknüpft.
In her site-specific installation on a glass window, Valerie Lipscher created an abstract light box image out of monochrome scraps of self-adhesive film. While her approach is intuitive and playful, Lipscher’s series Cuts is also a study of material. Through collaging, she produces an interplay of light, colour and film. New shapes and contrasts appear that defy fluid transitions. The forms are reminiscent of colourful wooden building blocks we used to play with as children. Combined with the unmistakable reference to stained-glass church windows, we are invited to reflect on the sacredness of play.
Valerie Lipscher (*1988) holds a BA and MA in Environmental Sciences from the ETH Zurich as well as a BA of Arts Illustration Fiction from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and a Teaching Certificate in Environmental Sciences. Lipscher’s multidisciplinary practice includes paintings, collages, textiles, text and ceramics. Lipscher is based in Zurich.
